Memory Quilts
How is a "Memory" Quilt Different?
You collect materials from the past - these could be baby clothes or Dad's favourite ties or even a quilt you loved as a kid. We take these materials , add a few to complement them, and create a quilt that is a 'memory' of the past - whether honouring a special person or celebrating special memories - it's your legacy to create! (That's why we sometimes call them Legacy Quilts, too.)
Bring in a pile of t-shirts or have us print off photos directly onto fabric, the possibilities are endless to create a beautiful memoir.
Pricing is determined by size, complexity of design, difficulty of materials, and the quilting wanted on your memory quilt. It will be determined in consultation with you.
Memory Mittens
Also have sweaters? Make them into mittens instead! If you have wool, fleece, or acrylic sweaters, Joy Wiebe can sew them into mittens for $50/pair. Each pair can have multiple sweaters incorporated, with each pair unique from each other. Every sweater has enough for more than one pair, so with a few sweaters, you can make mittens for the whole family!
